Exhibit Policy and Guidelines

1. All work must be original and created by the submitting artist. Artist’s giclee prints are acceptable:
4. We are a fine arts organization. At this time, we are not able to include the craft community in our exhibits.
5. Unfortunately, we do not have the facilities to display 3-dimensional work like sculptures or carvings.
Presentation of the Work
1. Unless otherwise specified, all paintings, drawings, and photography must be framed and matted according to the media needs. (Note: Matting is optional.) The picture must be secured in the frame and sturdy picture wire must be attached with screw eyes or D-Rings (approximately 1/3 distance from the top) to run across the back of the frame without too much slack.
1. We want to encourage all members to exhibit their work.
2. Works delivered to an exhibit that do not conform to specific instructions will be denied acceptance into the show by the exhibit manager.
3. Paintings/Photos may not be for sale.
4. There will be no commission on works sold.
5. The artist must set a price for his/her pieces if they are available for sale. The artist will be responsible for collecting the NJ State sales tax for all work sold at the exhibit. All sales tax collected is the artist’s individual responsibility to pay the tax to the State. SCAL is not involved in the sale of artwork.
6. All artwork must be approved by the Exhibit Committee member in charge of the exhibit.
7. REPLACEMENT OF SOLD ART WORK: If a painting is sold at an exhibit and is removed prior to the end of the exhibit, the artist should replace the sold painting. If the artist cannot replace the sold item, he/she should notify the exhibit chairperson as soon as possible.
8. All artists exhibiting their work will be given 2 copies of the Rules and Guidelines when they first exhibit their art work. They will sign the first copy for our records. The second copy will be held for your records.
Adherence to the Time Schedule
1. Deliveries and pick-ups are usually scheduled for specific times. The Exhibit Committee must work within these pre-arranged times so please be punctual. All artwork for the exhibit should arrive within the scheduled time to allow for registering and hanging the work before the end of the allowed time period.
2. Artists are invited to bring two paintings or photos. More paintings or photos will be welcome if space allows.
3. If these times are inconvenient for you, make arrangements with a friend to bring or pickup your work on the scheduled date and time.
Insurance
The Salem County Art League provides NO COVERAGE: of any kind. If this is of concern to you, check with your insurance agent.
FEATURED ARTIST GUIDELINES
1. The Featured Artist must follow the Exhibit Rules & Guidelines.
2. The Featured Artist must be available for:
a. the Exchange to hang the art work.
b. the "Meet the Artist" Reception.
c. the following Exchange Night to remove their art work safely
3. It is suggested that the "Featured Artist" should have 8-10 pieces of art work to fit the designated wall space approximately four feet high by ten feet wide. There is no age limit on the exhibited artwork.

- if they are from an original created by the submitting artist
- if the print method is identified as: Archival/Giclees (guaranteed not to discolor for 80 years, are printed on archival paper, and submitted with an authenticity certificate)
- if they are photographic prints

- Matting should be presented in a professional manner. This includes all paintings and photography. When the work is hung, the wire should not extend beyond the frame.
