You can help by
- bringing your artwork/photographs to exhibit. (Click here for directions) and/or
- signing up to monitor our booth at the Fair (See below)

What you can do when you cover the SCAL booth:
What you can do when you cover the SCAL booth:
- Bring your supplies and paint, draw, carve, Zentangle, etc., while you are there. People love to see how you create your work.
- Bring several paintings for display on the racks provided. Pick them up at the end of the fair. Since you will have to carry the work from the parking lot (unless you bring them on Monday when cars are allowed into the exhibit area), plan for the number and size of your work something you can easily carry or transport on a cart if you have one.
- MOST IMPORTANTLY your job would be to tell folks about our activites, exhibits, and web page. Invite them to attend a general meeting, HAND OUT BROCHURES, and our new coloring books for kids.
- Tell people about your interest in art and the paintings/photographs if you brought some to display. If you are working on a piece, they may have questions about that. If you like to talk to people, the time will probably fly by!
- Other information:
- Location of the booth will be confirmed later but it is usually in the Commercial Building, which is the first building on the left after entering. It also houses various nonprofit and political groups. Here is a link to the Fair grounds diagram, http://salemcountyfair.com/FairLayout%20-2017.jpg.
- Hanging racks, 2 tables, and 3 chairs will be provided. You may bring your own if you like. If you have pictures/albums of your work that you would like to show off, bring them too.
- There is no special parking area for Fair participants so parking will be in the regular, general parking area. The parking fee is $10 per carload. You may want to consider coming with another member to share not only a booth time slot but also the parking fee. Another suggestion might be to bring the kids or grandkids to visit the Fair while you are “on duty."
Following is the schedule for covering the Fair booth. Just choose the date and time slot you are able to cover and email me with your choice. I will email a copy of the completed schedule to those who are volunteering before the fair.
