To be eligible for the award, the applicant must be a graduating senior from Salem County and submit the following:
Note: Artwork must be original work. It may include drawing, painting, sculpting, pottery, and/or other artistic media created by hand. Work that is completely generated by computer is not acceptably

- A typed essay (up to 300 words) on your personal goals and the role fine art will play in your future.
- A letter of reference from a member of the art community who is familiar with the quality of your work, e.g. a past/current art teacher or mentor.
- A non-returnable sample of your work. It may be in the form of a photo or photocopy reproduction, but must be in paper form, 8" x 10" one print per page for three different works of art. On the back of each page indicate the title, medium type (watercolor, oil, pencil, etc.), and a short description of each work.

2019 -- Diana Lahr, Schalick High School
2018 -- Jon Lewis, Schalick High School.
Jon participated in the Art Academy at Schalick High School for three years. He will be attending the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University ,where he will pursue a Bachelors of Fine Art degree. Jon plans to continue his art education in preparation for becoming a practicing artist and college professor of art. Jon has received numerous other other awards recognizing his artistic achievements including a National Gold Medal from Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, the Governor’s Award for Achievement in the Arts from the NJ State Council of the Arts, and a scholarship from the Art Educators of NJ.
2017 -- Trent Lowe, Schalick High School.
While at Schalick, Trent participated on the track and field and cross country teams, the Float Committee, and numerous other extra curricular activities. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society. Trent plans to attend Virginia Commonwealth University to major in Industrial or Communications Design.
2016 -- Lucas Petrin, Woodstown High School.
Lucas was the first recipient of the Award. His love of art is entwined with his love of paleontology, and he is planning to use art to bring the history to life. He will be attending Rowan University in the fall.
